At The Museum With: Wear LACMA

About a year and a half ago, I had the privilege of working with Katherine Ross, the creator of Wear LACMA, on a capsule collection inspired by art in the museum's permanent collection. I've been asked to take part in the Wear LACMA initiative for the museum's 50th anniversary, which they've just launched in partnership with Farfetch. I'm one of 19 notable Los Angeles-based designers who have created exclusive fashion items. 12120487_1489510434677934_1430909377_n Here's most of the group with Katherine Ross, including Irene Neuwirth, Anita Ko, Greg Lauren, Gregory Parkinson, Greg Chait of The Elder Statesman and Monique Lhuillier, captured by @yerinmok. vestmain1 The inspiration for the capsule came from this 18th Century French vest from the museum's Costume and Textile collection. The elaborate workmanship and artistry that went into this vest allowed me to take elements of it and create quite unique pieces. The navy and cream striped chiffon clutch is inspired from the trim of the vest and on the collar of the vest, the words "Charmant Charmant" are embroidered. We've incorporated that element into the lining of the bags as an element of the unexpected and printed it on the blush tee as well.
